The case of Vueling is a “textbook” example of a corporate transaction from start up to quoting on the Spanish bourse. The company was founded by two entrepreneurs and backed by private equity and it quickly became a leading brand via correct positioning in the European market. When the new low cost airline was operating successfully, plans were made to float shares on the Spanish stock exchange in order to facilitate the exit of private equity investments. Dédalo managed the financial communications around this transaction. The company began quoting shares at 30 Euros on 1st December 2006 and in 3 months time the value of Vueling increased by 30%.
